USA (USD): USA CORE CPI – YoY – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the change in the price of goods and services from the perspective of the consumer. It is a key way to measure changes in purchasing trends and inflation. Last month’s YoY CPI increased to 6,4%, higher than the forecast of 6.2%.

The report is due Tuesday, 14 March at 12:30 GMT

NEW ZEALAND (NZD): NEW ZEALAND GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) – QoQ – Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures the annualized change in the inflation-adjusted value of all goods and services produced by the economy. It is the broadest measure of economic activity and the primary indicator of the economy’s health. New Zealand’s last GDP rose to 2.0%, better than the forecast of 0.9%.

EUROPE (EURO): EUROZONE INTEREST RATE DECISION – The six members of the European Central Bank (ECB) Executive Board and the 16 governors of the euro area central banks vote on where to set the rate. Traders watch interest rate changes closely as short-term interest rates are the primary factor in currency valuation. The last interest rate was set to 3.00%.

Nasdaq – The Nasdaq index declined 1.76% or 199.47 points on Friday. The index reached a high and low of 11,093.86 and 11,373.81 ,respectively. Nasdaq closed at 11,138.89 on Friday.

Meta Inc.  (NASDAQ – META) Meta Inc. stocks declined by 1.20% on Friday, with shares reaching a daily high and low of $184.77 and $178.80, respectively.  Meta is planning further job cuts almost matching the 13% layoff of 2022. Meta is trading at $179.51.

Gold – Gold increased by 2.08%, despite the positive NFP report surpassing the forecast, Gold showed strength against the US dollar as Treasury yields weakened on Friday. Gold was trading at $1,872 per ounce at the close.

USDJPY – USDJPY lost 0.88% on Friday following a weakened US dollar.  The pair is trading at 134.9620.
